Mani Monday: Summer Feels

Mondays are not always considered the best day of the week. People usually dread Mondays, however, one good thing about Mondays is Mani Mondays! Here in Barcelona city, it is a gloomy, rainy day which means that if you can stay at home, you should. And what better way to spend it then pampering yourself and maybe doing your nails. Pinterest is full of ideas for nail art if you're having trouble getting some ideas.

I found a picture of one time I did my nails as a summer sunset with a gradient of colors, palm trees, and seagulls, well the typical beach drawing seagulls. I saw three pins I liked and mixed them up a bit. When it comes to nail art, I don't usually follow instructions unless I really feel like I should, so I didn't go onto any websites to do this nail design, I just followed the pictures shown.

One was this one on the left, which I saved onto my "Nails" folder on Pinterest. What I loved was the fact that not every nail had palm trees. I had seen a bunch of them with all palm trees and didn't quite like it, and so I saved this idea for future reference on the traditional seagulls on drawings.

The other pin I saw was this one on the right. I liked the gradient look of it but didn't have all of the colors needed. I did love the sun that is seen on one of the nails on there.

Then I found the gradient look I was looking for. Shown in this picture there on the left. I loved that it made me feel super relaxed and it wasn't too bright.

And so I started trying to mix all three things I liked. I first did the gradient, which is always very fun because none will look exactly like the other, making each one special and unique. I then did my best with the palm trees and then the seagulls.

My final result

This took a while to make, so make sure you have enough time to finish it. I loved how it looked. It's perfect for those summer days by the beach. Or for those cold months when you miss the beach and can not wait for summer to arrive.

Have you ever tried a sunset mani?

TBT: Raw Brownie with Raw Berry Ice Cream

It's TBT! The day where people bring out the most embarrassing pictures from ages ago! But this blog really isn't about that, so my tbt is about that one time I was a Vegan+Rawtarian (I ate everything raw) for a month. It was hard...very hard...very expensive...and very very time-consuming! However, after some days, I felt different, in a good way. And I actually really liked using all the cool recipes I found on Pinterest. Some were delicious while others...well, I wasn't so thrilled about.  I'm a big fan of sweets, so I always would look for sweet things to make. One of my favorite desserts is brownies! Gosh, they are so good! But what do they have? Sugar, flour, eggs, milk...all the things I couldn't eat. So I did a bit of Pinterest research and found a recipe for it from a website that really helped me a lot! TheRawtarian  was my go-to website for almost all of my recipes and I still do some of them. The recipe I saw was exactly the one I was dreaming about...

Easy Tiramisu (Chef Recipe)

Every year for my parent's anniversary I'm in charge of making them a nice cake.  And I have tried to start a tradition with this. One year it's my mom's favorite dessert: black forest cake. The following is my dad's favorite: tiramisu. And finally, the third year is a surprise. It sounds complicated but it's really fun to do it this way and a lot easier. The hard part is to find that "perfect" recipe. Whenever it's about a month until their anniversary, I start my Pinterest hunt on that perfect recipe.  This year it was my dad's favorite: tiramisu. And so I searched through hundreds of pins until I found one that had everything I wanted. The recipe was fairly easy and I had access to all of the ingredients and it even included a YouTube video which is amazing! And I mean, look at how delicious it looks! I took that image from her website.  This pin was taken from Recipe Tin Eats , they have many incredible recipes that I will for ...

CopyCat Starbucks Lemon Loaf

Some months ago I had to bring a dessert to a friend's dinner and I really wanted to try something new. So what did I do? I went to my loyal Pinterest! And I found something I have never ever tried before! A Lemon Loaf! And not just any but a copycat one of Starbucks, which so far, the copycat recipes I have tried are actually really good! The Pin I found was by Jen from CincyShopper, here is a link to the recipe from her web and you can find the Pin here . Her recipes are AMAZING! You should go check them out! The recipe itself is really easy and affordable. It makes 2 loaves which 1 loaf actually was good for 10 people, but if you want thicker slices, then it will feed fewer people. I did do some adjustments because here in Spain (where I currently live) there aren't some things that recipe called for, or they are very hard to find and when you do find them, they are VERY expensive. The original recipe ingredients were: A picture of the Pin for the recipe ...
