Mani Monday: DIY Matte Nails

Matte nails have been in style for quite some time now. I believe it's something that will always be there despite not every single person using it. And you will see some people using it because it does look sophisticated and it does look perfect with some nail styles. When all of the matte nail rave came along you could buy either the nail polish that had a matte finish or you could use one of your favorite shades and apply a matte topcoat when done. However, these options were a bit pricey because everything that is a new trend is always pricey. I really wanted to do this to my nails and so I went onto Pinterest and looked for alternative options. And that is when I came upon this pin: Yes! A DIY matte top coat! It's from a blog called Pretty Gossip and on this post, she explains how you can make this at home. I loved ready her post and then went to check out her other things and I must say I love that blog! She also shows some hacks and more DIY stuff that...

Mani Monday: Summer Feels

Mondays are not always considered the best day of the week. People usually dread Mondays, however, one good thing about Mondays is Mani Mondays! Here in Barcelona city, it is a gloomy, rainy day which means that if you can stay at home, you should. And what better way to spend it then pampering yourself and maybe doing your nails.  Pinterest is full of ideas for nail art if you're having trouble getting some ideas.  I found a picture of one time I did my nails as a summer sunset with a gradient of colors, palm trees, and seagulls, well the typical beach drawing seagulls. I saw three pins I liked and mixed them up a bit. When it comes to nail art, I don't usually follow instructions unless I really feel like I should, so I didn't go onto any websites to do this nail design, I just followed the pictures shown. One was this one on the left, which I saved onto my "Nails" folder on Pinterest. What I loved was the fact that not every nail had palm trees. I had se...

Mani Monday: Black Vintage Floral

One of my favorite things to pin about are nail designs, in fact, if you check out my weheartit account, that will be one of my top things to save. I believe that we should all show ourselves a little bit of love and one way is by taking care of yourself. And this isn't to impress someone but to feel happy about yourself. I am not a professional nail artist BUT I love trying out different designs on my nails. I had seen on Pinterest and WeHeartIt a vintage nail design that I just fell in love with! But I really didn't have the colors needed and I was scared I wouldn't be able to do them good because all I had to work with were toothpicks and q-tips. But then I saw one on Pinterest from a Tumblr account and it was perfect! And I actually had the colors needed!  So I found a Pin on how to make this beautiful vintage  floral design by  Renata Princess . Her website is in Portuguese  but if you look at the tutorials tab there is no need to kno...

Confessions of a Pinner

I've been debating whether or not I should start this blog or not, and then after some encouragement from my lovely mom and my very supportive husband, I did! I have been a huge Pinner for some time now (sometimes a bit obsessed) and I love trying everything I Pin about. I love DIYs, nail designs, decorating and my ultimate favorite: baking! And basically anything on Pinterest!          So the thing is, as most of you Pinners out there know, sometimes I doubt whether or not the things we see on Pinterest really work or not. And I have googled a lot of times if something really works or not, sometimes I do find it and a lot of times I don't. This leads me to think about this blog! It's basically trying out the pins I've done and said my experience with them or some suggestions, while also showing and explaining my own pins. You can follow me on Pinterest and even suggest some pins I should try out! I hope you enjoy it!
