Mani Monday: DIY Matte Nails

Matte nails have been in style for quite some time now. I believe it's something that will always be there despite not every single person using it. And you will see some people using it because it does look sophisticated and it does look perfect with some nail styles. When all of the matte nail rave came along you could buy either the nail polish that had a matte finish or you could use one of your favorite shades and apply a matte topcoat when done. However, these options were a bit pricey because everything that is a new trend is always pricey. I really wanted to do this to my nails and so I went onto Pinterest and looked for alternative options. And that is when I came upon this pin: Yes! A DIY matte top coat! It's from a blog called Pretty Gossip and on this post, she explains how you can make this at home. I loved ready her post and then went to check out her other things and I must say I love that blog! She also shows some hacks and more DIY stuff that

Turning trash into treasure: My new TV stand

Does it ever happen to you that you need something but you don't have the money to get it? Or that you don't want to throw something out because you know it has the potential for something way better? Well, both things happened to me with my TV stand. I had just moved into my new apartment which was extremely old and needed a remodeling asap. That's where all of my money went to the endless remodeling. Some of the things I needed to remodel was the kitchen (which is an ongoing project). It literally had a stove and a broken countertop. I went to an app called Wallapop (one of my favs) and then after endlessly searching for some kitchen furniture found one. It was a lot more furniture than what I needed but it was such an amazing price that I said yes to it all.  And so then some friends installed the new kitchen cabinets and countertops but naturally, there were a couple of extra ones. Instead of immediately selling them, I thought of ways to use them around the house.

Easy Tiramisu (Chef Recipe)

Every year for my parent's anniversary I'm in charge of making them a nice cake.  And I have tried to start a tradition with this. One year it's my mom's favorite dessert: black forest cake. The following is my dad's favorite: tiramisu. And finally, the third year is a surprise. It sounds complicated but it's really fun to do it this way and a lot easier. The hard part is to find that "perfect" recipe. Whenever it's about a month until their anniversary, I start my Pinterest hunt on that perfect recipe.  This year it was my dad's favorite: tiramisu. And so I searched through hundreds of pins until I found one that had everything I wanted. The recipe was fairly easy and I had access to all of the ingredients and it even included a YouTube video which is amazing! And I mean, look at how delicious it looks! I took that image from her website.  This pin was taken from Recipe Tin Eats , they have many incredible recipes that I will for

Mani Monday: Summer Feels

Mondays are not always considered the best day of the week. People usually dread Mondays, however, one good thing about Mondays is Mani Mondays! Here in Barcelona city, it is a gloomy, rainy day which means that if you can stay at home, you should. And what better way to spend it then pampering yourself and maybe doing your nails.  Pinterest is full of ideas for nail art if you're having trouble getting some ideas.  I found a picture of one time I did my nails as a summer sunset with a gradient of colors, palm trees, and seagulls, well the typical beach drawing seagulls. I saw three pins I liked and mixed them up a bit. When it comes to nail art, I don't usually follow instructions unless I really feel like I should, so I didn't go onto any websites to do this nail design, I just followed the pictures shown. One was this one on the left, which I saved onto my "Nails" folder on Pinterest. What I loved was the fact that not every nail had palm trees. I had se

TBT: Raw Brownie with Raw Berry Ice Cream

It's TBT! The day where people bring out the most embarrassing pictures from ages ago! But this blog really isn't about that, so my tbt is about that one time I was a Vegan+Rawtarian (I ate everything raw) for a month. It was hard...very hard...very expensive...and very very time-consuming! However, after some days, I felt different, in a good way. And I actually really liked using all the cool recipes I found on Pinterest. Some were delicious while others...well, I wasn't so thrilled about.  I'm a big fan of sweets, so I always would look for sweet things to make. One of my favorite desserts is brownies! Gosh, they are so good! But what do they have? Sugar, flour, eggs, milk...all the things I couldn't eat. So I did a bit of Pinterest research and found a recipe for it from a website that really helped me a lot! TheRawtarian  was my go-to website for almost all of my recipes and I still do some of them. The recipe I saw was exactly the one I was dreaming about

Teeth Whitening Oil Pulling Chews

I haven't been very active in the last years, however, that does not mean I have stopped using Pinterest and trying out new things. That being said, I will slowly be updating you with everything that I have done over the past years as well as recent things. For today I am sharing something that I had been reading about a lot but I had not ever tried: oil pulling. There are a lot of websites and people that swear by them and say they are extremely helpful. I did some research and looked through Pinterest for a recipe that caught my attention. And so I stumbled upon one that seemed like a perfect fit for what I was looking for.  This was the picture on the pin I saw, isn't it beautiful?  The Pin is taken from a website called Mommy Potamus that has a lot of interesting DIY things you can make at home. You can find the whole article about these oil pulling chews  here .  The ingredients are quite simple: coconut oil and turmeric powder. You also have the option of adding

Sun-Dried Tomato Dressing

Have you ever done a detox? Well, I am a number one fan of doing a detox once in a while. They are hard (sometimes) but they leave your body feeling fresh and great! I found this recipe from Detoxinista  that has really good recipes! I have actually done several of them and I really love them! One that I did some days ago was the Sun-Dried Tomato Dressing  and it was amazing! Of course, I saved the Pin to one of my boards and I will definitely be doing it again.  It was a really simple recipe with ingredients that we normally have at home. The only thing I would recommend is to add a bit of less garlic. I love garlic but in my personal opinion, it was a bit too much. I used this for some of my salads and my personal favorite was using it on some baked veggies I made yesterday.  If you try this, let me know what you think and how you use this dressing!
