Mani Monday: DIY Matte Nails

Matte nails have been in style for quite some time now. I believe it's something that will always be there despite not every single person using it. And you will see some people using it because it does look sophisticated and it does look perfect with some nail styles.

When all of the matte nail rave came along you could buy either the nail polish that had a matte finish or you could use one of your favorite shades and apply a matte topcoat when done. However, these options were a bit pricey because everything that is a new trend is always pricey.

I really wanted to do this to my nails and so I went onto Pinterest and looked for alternative options. And that is when I came upon this pin:

Yes! A DIY matte top coat! It's from a blog called Pretty Gossip and on this post, she explains how you can make this at home. I loved ready her post and then went to check out her other things and I must say I love that blog! She also shows some hacks and more DIY stuff that I will definitely try in the future.

For this you just need two ingredients: clear top coat and corn starch. I love pinning pictures like these because it has the pictures of the steps you need to follow. I am totally more of a visual learner.

If you want to check out the post where this picture is from then here is the link! I got my things ready and did this DIY matte topcoat.

This was my final result (excuse the bad edges as I had to run to work before taking the picture and didn't have time to properly finish them):

I was so happy to see how they came out! I used it on black nail polish because of other posts I had seen as well as the original pinned picture. I then added some heart nail stickers I had just to make it more me like. I loved this!

I personally just used a bit, I didn't mix a whole bottle of top coat, just in case and I would prefer to just use a bit at a time. An important tip is to remember to really blend the corn starch if not, you will have this weird powdery look at the end.

My overall experience was great! I loved the results and it worked perfectly. I recommend this DIY 100%!

Easy Tiramisu (Chef Recipe)

Every year for my parent's anniversary I'm in charge of making them a nice cake.  And I have tried to start a tradition with this. One year it's my mom's favorite dessert: black forest cake. The following is my dad's favorite: tiramisu. And finally, the third year is a surprise. It sounds complicated but it's really fun to do it this way and a lot easier. The hard part is to find that "perfect" recipe. Whenever it's about a month until their anniversary, I start my Pinterest hunt on that perfect recipe.  This year it was my dad's favorite: tiramisu. And so I searched through hundreds of pins until I found one that had everything I wanted. The recipe was fairly easy and I had access to all of the ingredients and it even included a YouTube video which is amazing! And I mean, look at how delicious it looks! I took that image from her website.  This pin was taken from Recipe Tin Eats , they have many incredible recipes that I will for ...

Turning trash into treasure: My new TV stand

Does it ever happen to you that you need something but you don't have the money to get it? Or that you don't want to throw something out because you know it has the potential for something way better? Well, both things happened to me with my TV stand. I had just moved into my new apartment which was extremely old and needed a remodeling asap. That's where all of my money went to the endless remodeling. Some of the things I needed to remodel was the kitchen (which is an ongoing project). It literally had a stove and a broken countertop. I went to an app called Wallapop (one of my favs) and then after endlessly searching for some kitchen furniture found one. It was a lot more furniture than what I needed but it was such an amazing price that I said yes to it all.  And so then some friends installed the new kitchen cabinets and countertops but naturally, there were a couple of extra ones. Instead of immediately selling them, I thought of ways to use them around the house. ...

TBT: Raw Brownie with Raw Berry Ice Cream

It's TBT! The day where people bring out the most embarrassing pictures from ages ago! But this blog really isn't about that, so my tbt is about that one time I was a Vegan+Rawtarian (I ate everything raw) for a month. It was hard...very hard...very expensive...and very very time-consuming! However, after some days, I felt different, in a good way. And I actually really liked using all the cool recipes I found on Pinterest. Some were delicious while others...well, I wasn't so thrilled about.  I'm a big fan of sweets, so I always would look for sweet things to make. One of my favorite desserts is brownies! Gosh, they are so good! But what do they have? Sugar, flour, eggs, milk...all the things I couldn't eat. So I did a bit of Pinterest research and found a recipe for it from a website that really helped me a lot! TheRawtarian  was my go-to website for almost all of my recipes and I still do some of them. The recipe I saw was exactly the one I was dreaming about...
